Welcome to the Mohegan Library Media Center!

The library curriculum is designed to promote information literacy, critical thinking, and digital citizenship skills. Students visit the library each week and have the opportunity to read, borrow books, and participate in a lesson geared towards one of the five units included in our curriculum.

Curriculum Snapshot:

  1. Library Skills
  2. Digital Citizenship
  3. Coding
  4. Robotics
  5. Makerspace

Media Center Policies:

  • Kindergarten students may borrow 1 book at a time
  • Students in grades 1-5 may borrow 2 books at a time
  • There are no fines for late books, but bills will be issued for lost items. Notices will be sent home before a bill is generated. If a book is located at a later date, a refund will be processed through the Main Office. Please email [email protected] with questions at any point

Lost Book Procedure:

  • If a book is lost or damaged, please contact me; we often find that lost books end up being located and returned.  If you have paid for a lost book and it is found and returned, you will be reimbursed upon it's return.

Interlibrary Loans:

  • If the Mohegan library does not have a copy of a book that is requested but is in the collection at another Montville elementary school, we can request it. Students love receiving a book that was requested especially for them!

Sections of the Library:

  • Everybody picture book
  • Everybody chapter books
  • Everybody Non-Fiction
  • Non-Fiction
  • Fiction
  • Graphic Novels

Chromebooks and iPads:

  • A great deal of our work in the library requires student devices. In order to be successful in that area, please help your student develop a routine to remember to charge their device if they bring it home
